The national-conservative ex-Mayor (1930-1937) of Leipzig, Carl Friedrich Goerdeler (1884-1945) wrote several memorials for a reorganization of Germany after Hitler’s fall. He became the focus of civil resistance and was intended to be Chancellor. Executed on 2 February 1945.

The lawyer worked after war broke out as experts on international law in the OKW Helmuth James Graf von Moltke (1907-1945). On his Silesian estate of Kreisau, he gathered important resistance fighters. Betrayal led early 1944 Moltke arrest. Because of close ties to the July 20, he was executed early in 1945.

Ludwig Beck (1880-1944) off protest against Hitler’s war policy resigned in 1938 Beck only General still in peace. First hesitantly, the ex-Chief of staff of the army took part in the conspiracy; He was to become Governor. Shot on 20 July 1944 after suicide attempt.

Friedrich Olbricht (1888-1944) as Chief of the General Army Office was the General Logistics head of the Berlin conspirators. To plan the assassination with Stauffenberg, he hired him as Chief of staff to itself. Olbricht with sparked the "Valkyrie" command. Shot on the night of the July 21 in the Bendlerblock.

Peter Graf Yorck von Wartenburg (1904-1944) the lawyer and reserve officer in the military economic Office, was considered the heart of the Kreisau Circle. The resistance, he supported Christian convictions is met in his apartment. The cousin of Stauffenberg was sentenced on 8 August 1944 and executed.

The former SPD Reichstag deputies Julius Leber (1891-1945) four year NS sentence already had behind him, when he joined the Kreisau Circle and opened the resistance movement to the left. Liver was as Chancellor in the conversation, but was arrested before 20 July. Executed on 5 January 1945.
